Y&R Advertising’s Claudio Lima: I see greater projects from Hispanic agencies every day

As the USH Idea Awards ceremony approaches, Claudio Lima, VP Creative Head of Y&R/Bravo Miami talked to PRODU about his expectations as a juror of the annual prize. Lima has worked for renowned brands such as FedEx, Dell Latin America, AT&T, and Wendy’s USA. Before joining Y&R, he worked at Ogilvy Brazil, where he managed the Claro Telecom, Coca-Cola Zero LATAM, and Burger King Brazil accounts, among others.As a member of the USH Idea Awards 2014 jury, Lima wishes to see works and ideas that can appear at different festivals, regardless their language and culture, as the most important aspect is that they stand out by its power and creativity. “I love things that break the rules and show new ways of thinking. I believe we are glued to thinking boxes, with client rules and market standards” he said. The Creative Head added that USH Idea’s prizes are the most coveted for the Hispanic agencies; nevertheless, he considers that it is an award that is still in a growing process. To conclude, he does not doubt that the awards are a great opportunity prior to the Cannes Lions. “The most important thing is to focus on our objective, it must answer to the Latino market, but it must also be good enough to be given anywhere in the world”.The third edition of the USH Idea Awards will be held next April, 29th, along with the AHAA 2014 conference, and it will take place in Miami Beach city.
